The Conclusion

And so the Origin of the Vel has come to an end. Delviniyan fulfilled his purpose of being, and became Murugan Aaiyyan's Vel (spear).

There are many conclusions one can make from this history on the Origin of the Vel. Traditionally Aaiyyanists have focused on several pillars of truth (but there are other conclusions one can make, depending on your school of thought). It must be noted that Murugan's words of Oneness at the end of the tale were disregarded. Humanity drifted further apart instead of becoming One with one another. This is changing however, and thus 'The Block' is weakening.

The first conclusion is that the ways of higher beings may not be comprehended by us yet (until we are fully formed). For example, Aaiyyanists and traditional Hindus believe that the Goddess Parvati gifted Murugan the Vel (spear) in order to vanquish Surapadman. This 'gifting' was actually in the form of a being of profound humanity... not perfect, but an imperfect being that is striving to achieve more than themselves. Remember, Parvati aided Delviniyan at the beginning of this tale to be taken in by Sage KalShivayan... who then bought the boy up as his own and thus sowed the seeds for this moment. And so we must reiterate the point that traditional Orthodox Hindus are correct in that Parvati gave Murugan the Vel, for it is really what happened... the Vel (Delviniyan) gifted to Murugan via the intricacies of the Universal truth played out before us all.

The second conclusion one can make is that Aaiyyan-Murugan can come down to our realm at any time of his choosing, and will come back when he is needed. So it is up to his worshippers and students to learn as much about his being as is possible so that we can recognise his greatness (unlike Queen Sironemaniyaa who caged Murugan when she first laid eyes on him). We also must stive will all our being to become One and thus remove 'The Block' to allow us to become free once more.

The third conclusion to remember is that Aaiyyan-Murugan is the holistic being, a merging of Feminine (Parvati) and masculine (Shiva) to create a being that transcends both. This is vitally important for Aaiyyanists to remember as it is our mission also to eventually merge with Brahman and in thus doing transcend Brahman into something new. In other words, our imperfections have been created in order for Brahman to transcend itself. We are what we are... for a reason.

The forth pillar of truth to understand is Delviniyan's background. He was not a King or Prince but an orphan of a poor family. He was an ordinary person. He was one of us. This point is to teach us that anyone can achieve transcendence and greatness, if they just apply the correct training and meet the appropriate teachers at the correct point in time. Anyone can achieve what they wish if they have the will power and desire to be better than themselves. If you search for the truth it will find you and like-minded people will gather at your feet to teach you. This is your spiritual destiny to fulfil. You see there is a universal pathway set out for us all... and we all need to discover it for ourselves... if we wish it.

An important fifth pillar or conclusion one can draw from the message of 'The Origin of the Vel', is that self sacrifice for Murugan-Aaiyyan is all important. Delviniyan sacrificed his very being to become something more than himself, and this is what all Aaiyyanists should strive for. One must immerse yourself fully in Aaiyyanism to transcend yourself and get one step closer to Brahman.

The 6th conclusion on can take away from this parable is is the unity of all paths. There are many ways to reach Brahman - from the positive (Loka paths) to the negative (Tala paths). All paths are equally valid so you must choose your own path in life. But you also must not hate others for following a different path. This is the message of the discourse between the Kalaiyyans and the Aardra Aaiyyanists. They were both following the path but in different directions, and thus felt enmity to one another instead of recognising that there are many way to reach Brahman. If we are really One then different opinions and ideas should not matter as they are actually all part of Brahman.

The final conclusion one can take away is the concepts of Oneness, training and patience over many lifetimes. Murugan Aaiyyan presented the concept of Oneness in all by revealing his identity as the vanquisher of Surapadman (the wielder of Turappuyan) and Surapadman himself (i.e. Brahman's block: Atekkaayan). So what does this mean to Aaiyyanists now. Basically, Murugan showed us that we were not fully ready yet to feel the power of all the Lokas and Talas fully unblocked for us to utilise, as had been the way in the earliest histories of humanity. And so he is acting as The Block until we are ready to break through it using our own Turappuyan. So what we must do then is practise opening Lokas (and for some Talas) until we are ready to break the Block. Remember also, that we have many lifetimes to achieve this goal, so this is not something that will happen straight away. However if you are reading this as an Aaiyyanist, you have already practised these actions (opening Lokas/Talas) many times before in your previous lives so your level should be greater than most humans on this planet. Yes, you are closer to Oneness than most, but do not let the ego allow you to think that you are superior. We are all one. And this is the final message of this history of the Vel. If we all become One then 'the Block' Atekkaayan will diminish and our powers to link with all dimensions will increase exponentially, until we are able to face and become one with Brahman once more.
